Adrenaline Film Festival

Climbing, surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding like you’ve never seen before…get ready for the second annual Adrenaline Film Festival,

A part of the Climb for Life event in Salt Lake. This year our special guest is world-class climber Adam Stack, who is the event MC.

The Optimists (rock climbing) by Josh Lowell/ Big Up Productions
Hailed by Climbing Magazine as the Quentin Tarantino of rock climbing, thirty-two year old director Josh Lowell has been producing climbing movies since 1997. Lowell’s New York City based Big UP Productions has released many features, including the benchmark climbing films Rampage (1999), Dosage Vol 1 (2001) and Pilgrimage (2003).Lowell's films are distributed around the world and have won several awards as well as being featured on internationally syndicated cable television shows. Lowell lost his mother to ovarian cancer and in 2003 he premiered Pilgrimage in Salt Lake City, donating the proceeds to HERA.

Getting Nowhere Faster (skateboarding) by Villa Villa Cola
Featured in Outside Magazine, the women behind Villa Villa Cola – Lisa Whitaker, Lori Damiano, and sisters Tiffany and Nicole Morgan - bring to light the elusive and mysterious underworld of female skateboarders. The project features skateboarding from the most talented group of shred-getters including professional street skaters, vert pioneers, and X Games champions: Vanessa Torres, Amy Caron, Cara Beth Burnside, Elizabeth Nitu, Faye Jaime, Alex White, Patiane Frietas, “Nugget”, Lauren Mollica, Van Nguyen, Lauren Perkins, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins, Stefanie Thomas, Kenna Gallagher, and many more. This is skateboarding at an explosive skill level never seen before.

A Girl’s Surf Addiction (surfing) by Sky Rondennet / Sky Films
This film covers an 18-month journey traveling with top pro surfers such as Rochelle Ballard, Mealnie Bartels, Chelsea Georgeson, Sofia Mulanovich, Megan Abubo and Keala Kennelly. Rondenet, a highly respected filmmaker has been recognized for her work, winning awards such as best soundtrack for her film Our Turn at the Park City, UT X-Dance Film Festival. Her previous films include Hardly Angels and the all girl surf film 7 Girls and The Modus Mix.

Transfer (snowboarding) by Josie Clyde, Lesley McKenna and Sian Hughes / Chunky Knit Productions (UK)
Pro-snowboarder Lesley McKenna, who competed in the Salt Lake City Olympics, teamed up with international ski competitor Josie Clyde and New Zealand snowboarder Sian Hughes to create this international all-girls snowboard film. Transfer takes you into the world of women's snowboarding, encapsulating the changes and personalities in the sport. The world’s top riders are featured as they tour from Iceland to Japan, Russia to North America to Europe. Riders include: Cheryl Maas, Victoria Jealouse, Kjersti Buaas, Erin Valverde, Jenny Jones, Lesley McKenna, Stine Brun Kjeldaas, Lisa Filzmoser, Laura Berry, Lisa Wiik, Molly Milligan, Tina Birbaum, and Vicci Miller.
