2005 HERA FOUNDATION GOLF SCRAMBLE
TULSA COUNTRY CLUB
“SWING FOR LIFE”
June 13th, 2005
The 2005 HERA Foundation Golf Scramble will take place to benefit ovarian
cancer research and to help women receiving treatment in Oklahoma and their
families battling the disease.
The HERA Foundation in Oklahoma has raised over $25,000 since our first tournament in 2003. Proceeds have gone towards an ovarian cancer research grant to Dr. Hoshida in the Department of Molecular Therapeutics at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas for his work identifying novel targets for controlling ovarian cancer metastases. HERA also provided two grants to HOPE in Oklahoma to help area women who not only are dealing with the stress of a cancer diagnosis, but also worry about how to pay their bills.
Golfers and sponsors are needed for this year's event. Team entry fees are $600 ($150/player) giving each golfer access to the TCC driving range, lunch before the shotgun start at 1:00 pm, an embroidered golf shirt and other golf related prizes. This is a four-person scramble with each team having at least one female golfer.
If you'd like information about becoming a sponsor or playing in this year's event, please contact Laureen Gibson Gilroy at lggilroy@cox.net
